From the basics of camera operation to the principles of photography; from applied hands-on workshops about exposure, perspective, and camera optimization, to the principles and application of lighting and artistic composition. From the transfer of your images to your computer, through the basic post processing skills using Photoshop to make your photographs look terrific. You will learn the how all the different functions of the camera work and the principles of photography itself. No class on Feb 20,27 or Mar 6, missed classes will be made up at a time to be determined. A camera and manual are required for this course.
This is a 30 hour course.
Drawing and Painting

Fundamentals and techniques of drawing, painting, and color theory are practiced in this basic course, for the absolute beginner or more experienced student. Working with pencil, charcoal, ink, watercolor and oil paints, students will be introduced to easily manageable ways of creating representational drawn and painted images. All materials will be provided. This is a 25 hour class
Home Audio Recording

Learn audio recording basics like mic placement and monitoring, get comfortable with recording software like Garageband and Logic and record, mix and master songs in class with professional help every step of the way.Students will need to bring the instruments they want to play/record and a set of headphones.

A one night class on getting the most out of your home audio recordings with an iPad or iPhone.Whether you are recording an album or demoing some songs this program will teach you best practices for recording workflow how to operate recording apps like Gargage Band and basics of mic placement and monitoring to best capture your music.Students will need an iPAD or iPhone and a set of earbuds or earphones.

A course designed for the beginning student. Jewelry making techniques such as filing, sawing, soldering silver and simple stone setting will be taught. Tools are furnished, but students are expected to pay for materials used. The $75.00 lab fee is included in the tuition. Option of an Open Studio for experienced students who have already taken Basic Jewelry. Students will design and execute their own projects.

Pysanky-Ukrainian Egg Dying
with JoAnn Wolter
Learn how to decorate eggs using this traditional craft. Participants will create their own eggs using traditional kistkas to apply melted wax patterns between different dye colors. You will leave with at least one completed egg, a kistka and a wax block. A $15 materials fee is included in the cost of the class.
